Wind Tunnel

Put a shape in the wind and see what the air does with it.

This is a 2D approximation: one slice through the flow, so air can go over and under things but never round the sides. It runs at a far lower Reynolds number than a real car on a road, and a flat wake is longer than a real one. Both push the drag numbers up. Use them to compare shapes in this tunnel, not to sign off a design.

It runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere.

Drag a shape to move it. Keys: Space pause, . step, R reset flow, 1–4 views, A and B pick a tunnel when comparing.
